Benchmark Export Services, Inc. (Essington (Philadelphia Area)
Benchmark Export Services was incorporated in April 1986, and has operated continuously since that time. A “closely-held” corporation, which is operated by its principals, whose combined experience in the Freight Forwarding industry is in excess of 100 years. The company is both an IATA approved agent and licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission as FOREIGN FREIGHT FORWARDERS. We are also licensed as Customs Brokers and operate under a National Permit.
With offices and warehouses situated in Essington, Pennsylvania and also in Folcroft Pennsylvania the company offers a full range of forwarding services to the export shipper and importer. The personnel at “Benchmark” pride themselves in providing FAST answers to their customers’ questions and rate quotations. Too, they can tailor their services to fit the needs of those firms new to the export marketplace with expert answers and advice with regards to international banking, i.e. letters of credit, cash against documents transactions, etc. We work to provide our agents and their import and export clients with quality service, and timely personal responses.
Our office is located just 5 minutes from the Philadelphia Airport. This strategically places us less than 2 hours to New York airports and Ocean Ports as well as less than 2 hours from Baltimore Airport and Ocean Ports. Philadelphia also has a number of ocean ports which of course are just minutes from our office. We have 26 employees in the organization. The Philadelphia location is our main office and we have another small sales office in the Portland, Maine area which helps to assist many of our clients in that area as well.
We have the ability to handle shipments all throughout the USA. We have a 3 Custom brokers on staff with an import department of 7 people. We handle all Customs Clearances in house all throughout the USA at any port.
Our export team handles air freight and ocean freight as well from all points of export in the USA. With a very experienced staff of 9 on our Export side, we handle exports from all over the USA. Frozen and chilled perishable shipments are also handled by our staff including by air freight.
Lastly our domestic department has a staff of 2 people and they are able to handle shipments via standard LTL, FTL, flat beds, temperature controlled and air freight within the USA. For shipments that will be exported, we can have our domestic team handle the pickup from the shipper's door and bring to the necessary destination for export. |
