#CLNDANANG2017, the most successful CLN annual partnership meeting so far! This year's CLN 15th Annual Partnership Meeting was successfully held with a blast Pullman Da Nang Beach Resort in Vietnam on March 14 to 17, 2017 attended by around 250 freight forwarders from across the globe.

Combined Logistics Networks conference started off with a unique welcome cocktail party sponsored by Tony Warr International Pty Ltd., with a theme of United Nations, bringing the world together. With a different approach this year, CLN successfully brought the world in Da Nang as majority of our participants proudly attended wearing their traditional attires. The cocktail reception was flooded by people wearing Ao Dai, Vietnamese national attire; Lederhosen of Germany; Sari, Kurta and Sherwani of India; Toob or Kandura and Jallabiya of Sudan and United Arab Emirates; Baju of Malaysia; Batik of Indonesia; Cheongsam of China; Charro suit and Tabasco of Mexico; Kaftan and Djellaba of Morocco and even a piece of their nationality through Orange shoes representing Netherlands; and other clothes adorned with their national flags.


Earlier on day 1, the CLN Fellowship Golf Game sponsored by FINLOGISTICS ( FL Services Oy) kicked-off at BRG Da Nang Golf Resort at 8am to 2pm. Composed of 4 flights of players from different countries, it was indeed a successful golf game. In this year's game, we have adapted a simplified version of Texas Scramble, with 'CLN Scramble.


On the 2nd day of our conference, CLN Director & Co-founder Nils Walle officially welcomed all of the attendees. Opening the conference, Nils delivered the network management updates with special recognition of the newest CLN members. Also revealed wasthe official CLN conference mobile app that brought participants to interact and be updated easier. Nils also announced the expanding of network coverage in selected territories to maximum of 10 agents, bringing new partners with new businesses. Afterwards, Mr. Mark Millar, Asia's foremost speaker and a respected authority on logistics and supply chain strategies, industry trends and market developments shared a keynote speech on Convergence of Logistics & Trading and Finance & Logistics.

This was followed by our next speakers, the Gold and Diamond sponsors of our event starting with presentation of IFS International Freight Shipping SAC (Peru), Softlink Global (India), the CLN exclusive Technology Provider and Global Maritime Services Co Ltd. (Vietnam) followed by a surprising performance from its Managing Director Huyen, Nguyen Thi Kim, singing a Vietnamese song. On the afternoon of March 15 and whole day of March 17, hundreds of face-to-face meetings sponsored by Calenberg Oversea Logistics GmbH & Co. KG were scheduled among delegates. The CLN delegates were able to rekindle friendships and likewise started to develop new business ideas together.


One of the much-awaited programs of the event is the 15th year Anniversary Beach Barbecue Dinner and Awards Ceremony at the beachside of Furama Resort Da Nang. Wearing their white beach top, all participants enjoyed the beach theme of the night. The dinner and awards ceremony started off with the stunning performance of a welcome Lion Dance. Afterwards, followed by the announcement of Dinner Raffle Prize Winner sponsored by Polimex Forwarding Corp. The lucky winner that brought home an iPod Touch is Gigi Yeung of Wm Logistics (Worldwide) Ltd (Hong Kong).

The CLN Loyalty Awards were handed out as well to members who have been with the network for 3 years, 5 years, 8 years, 10 years, and a special mention to our honorary members who have been with the network for over 15 years now.

One of the highlights of the night is also the awarding ceremony of our network's new activities and milestone including the premier edition of our CLN Excellence Award and winners of Photo Booth Award and Character Awards during the United Nation Cocktail Reception. The Best Photo Booth Award for Individual goes to Von Ryan of Fast Track Shipping LLC (United Arab Emirates) and NagwaNashed Abadeer George and Victor Basada of Gebeit Navigation & Trading Co. Ltd. (Sudan) for Best Group Photo.

This was immediately followed by the announcement of Character Awards. The Best Dressed award for female goes to Jihane Kherbach of MYCS International Transport & Logistics (Morocco)while Eduardo Haros of Racing cargo (Mexico) claimed the award for the male category. Nguyen Thi Kim Of Global Maritime Services Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) And Chris Warr Of Tony Warr International Pty Ltd (Australia) both won the Best Personality Award. Best Looks award goes to Karen Castro Of Racing Cargo (Mexico)And Sumit Agarwal Of Ryal Logistics Pvt Ltd (India). Finally, the Last Man Standing Award winner is Calvin Zeng Of Ningbo Star Alliance International Logistics Co.,Ltd (China) who left the ballroom of the welcome cocktail party at 9:14pm.


The CLN Members who won the CLN Excellence Award were LeoProex (Spain), Air International Freight Co., Ltd. (Taiwan) and Calenberg Oversea Logistics GmbH & Co. KG (Germany). This award recognizes their utmost dedication and outstanding performance towards the members of our network.

The 3rd day rolled out actively starting with ClearFreight Beach Run / Walk as early as 8am at beachside of Pullman Da Nang Resort. Around 50 participants joined the run / walk activity, enjoying the beach waves and the fine sand. This was followed by the CLN Olympics sponsored by KLG Europe Rotterdam BV which started with a warm-up exercise. Activities of the CLN Olympics were Beach Badminton, Volleyball and Football Match held altogether at beachside from 9:30am to 11:30am. After rolling, jumping and kicking in the sand, the next activity during the day is the CLN Beer Competition sponsored by ASG Wind Transport SRL.


After being active during the day, it's now time to relax in the next activity, Poolside Networking at the stunning pool of Pullman Da Nang Beach Resort. This was followed by the free flowing drink party in Sky Bar 36, the highest sky bar in Vietnam, where the announcement of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Winner medalists of the Badminton, Volleyball and Football were also conducted. Winners of Badminton Match are the following. 3rd place, Bronze - Oliver Marbach of Nova Traffic Ltd. (Switzerland) and Syed Aminur Rahman of A.I Freight Services. 2nd place, Silver - Rakesh S. Pillai of CBX Logistics (India) and Sachit Dedhia of Velocity Global Logistics Pvt Ltd (India) and 1st, Gold - Syed Muhammad Hamza Kirmani of Logistics Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (Pakistan) and Kevin Lim of Megaton Shipping Pte Ltd (Singapore).

Medalists for the Football game are the following. 3rd place, Bronze are Wade Bollard of CT Freight Pty Ltd, Gordon Bohnen of Calenberg Oversea Logistics GmbH & Co.KG, Germany, Michael Gardias of SnapTrans Limited, Anh Tuan Ngo of Global Maritime Services Co., Ltd., Anooj Ravindra of Dolphin Shipping & Logistics and Abdelhamid El-Malatawy of Dispatch Logistics. 2nd place, Silver - Chris Warr of TONY WARR INTERNATIONAL PTY LTD, Sebastian Yu of Shanghai Zebra Logistics Co., Ltd.,and Michele Francesco of CTO Global Logistics SRL. And the 1st place, Gold Medallists are Nelson Leonel of Carga Internacional P Logistica SAS (CIPELOG SAS), Bình, Hà T of HP Trading and Logistics JSC, Moundir BEN MANNSOUR of MYCS International Transport & Logistics, Larbi Zerrioui Of F2b Logistics, Pedro Acuña Ayala Of Real Shipping And Trade Sa De CV, Manuel Theophilus of Truong Anh Trading and Logistics Joint Stock Company and Christian Raeuber of Combined Logistics Networks. Bronze winner of Volleyball are Alice Arduini Of Bianchi & C. Trasporti Internazionali Srl , Matteo Saia of Navigational Logistics, Jose Antonio Perez of Korman International Co Ltd. Silver medalists are Yesica Silvina Olivera of SKY Cargo SRL, Gabriel Buedo of Ots Global Logistics, Vonei Guimarães of Autrans Logistics Ltda And Alfredo Lopez Ruiz Of Real Shipping And Trade Sa De Cv.
